It’s bad enough being a starving artist, but having inadequate digital images of your artwork is even scarier. If you’re serious about self-promotion and artistic sustainability then the value of a high-resolution photograph is priceless.
On Sunday, November 13th, from 11-4pm, the Mt. Airy Art Garage will partner with Profiles Studio for our first ever “Shoot N’ Show.” Here, we’d like to take professional photographs of your artwork and offer you the chance to finally capture that perfect image. Plus, all proceeds will be donated to MAAG’s Building Fund. 
Come on out to Profiles, located at 8011 Germantown Avenue, where high-resolution digital shots of your 2-D artwork can be obtained. Each original piece of art, as large as 36”x48”, will be set up, individually, under professional studio lights and shot with a high-resolution studio camera. Finally, your artwork will get the justice it digitally deserves!
Once your artwork has enjoyed its time in the literal spotlight, its files will be saved to your choice of a CD or DVD in two file formats:
- A high-resolution TIF file (used for printing promotional materials or small 11”x14” fine art prints)
- A low-resolution JPEG file (used for e-mailing and uploading)
Originals should lie flat and preferably not be framed. However, if the piece is already matted and behind glass, there’s no need to worry as the brilliant technicians at Profiles can shoot through it.
Cost per scan is $25 for one original and $20 each for five or more. However, MAAG members will be offered a discount rate of $20 for one original and $16 each for five or more.
