Yes, it’s true, we’re out of our old location. And YES, we have a wonderful handcraft gift shop at 6622 Germantown Ave., filled to the brim and open for the holidays from Wed. – Sunday. But what would the holidays be without the Mt. Airy Art Garage (MAAG) Holiday Art Market?

When you have local artists selling their unique original artwork, combined with live music, food, and holiday cheer for the entire family…now that’s a party! Plus it’s free!

It’s our 8th Annual Holiday Art Market Extravaganza, and this year we’re in popup mode. Artists will fill our new popup space/ gallery with one-of-a-kind items, for both adults and children, made by woodworkers, sculptors, painters, leather crafters, jewelers, fiber artists and weavers, photographers, ceramic artists, and more. Here are just some of the artists you’ll be finding at our holiday celebration:

Kevin Bennett, Denise & Angelique Benrahou, Sheila & Deborah Brown, Jackie Clifton, Gray Fisher, Samantha Hyman, Morris Jones, Bettie Kleckley, Itzik Lorant, Sara Mosley, Arleen Olshan, Christina Perez, Roberto Rashid, Kathy Robinson, Patricia Cousins Smith, Yvette Sumter, Nicki Toizer, and others. Plus musicians galore with Joe Fanning, Matt Gordon, Marion Halliday, Art Miron, Sarah Napolitan, Sad Patrick and Bethlehem, and drumming with Music in the Moment with Ron Kravitz and Friends.

On two separate weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, December 3/4 and Dec. 17/18, from noon – 6 PM, MAAG will be hosting this not to be missed weekend of art and celebration at Lutheran Theological Seminary’s Hagan Center Gym at 7301 Germantown Ave.

Plus with free admission, food and drink, as well as live music from local favorites, there’s bound to be something to please every name on your list.

So stop in, shop, and celebrate with us! Bring your family. After all, supporting local artists (in the community you already love) surely beats going to the mall.
