Wendover Street by Karen Singer

“Wendover Street,” ceramic tile panel

I make ceramic tile murals, which have been commissioned by hospitals, universities and other nonprofits across the U.S. I specialize in donor recognition walls that portray the character and mission of each client organization. I have run the Karen Singer Tileworks Studio in the Germantown neighborhood where I live for over 22 years; and I teach classes and workshops to students ranging in age from 5 to 95. In addition, I have coordinated collaborative mural projects in numerous schools and senior facilities.

Born in Madison, Wisconsin, I earned a BA at Pitzer College in Claremont, CA, and an MFA in Sculpture at the University of Pennsylvania. I am married to artist-furniture maker, Peter Handler, and have an 18-year-old son, Isaac Adlowitz.
