Through the Lens

The Mt. Airy Art Garage (MAAG) is holding an open call for photographers to submit work to our annual photography exhibit happening Sept. 16 to Oct. 14 in the Solomon Levy Gallery at 7054 Germantown Ave.

This year’s theme is Through The Lens, and will feature photography that explores the artists’ personal experiences, unique perspectives, strong opinions, or the deep joys and sorrows of everyday life. The Mt. Airy Art Garage encourages artists to submit up to two (2) pieces of photography to be on display and for sale in this upcoming exhibition. All work must be framed and ready to hang.

This is a juried exhibition held in partnership with MAAG’s Photo Club, which meets on the third Saturday of each month from noon to 2 p.m. To learn more about the club, call 267-323-2312.

Submissions:

To submit, send to [email protected] the following (all items can also be sent via snail mail or hand-delivered):

• MAAG’s Submission Form
• Up to 2 JPG images (300 dpi) of your work. Be advised that submitted images may be used by MAAG for advertising and marketing if the work is accepted.
• Entry Fee per piece submitted: $20/members, $25 per piece/non-members, which can be sent via PayPal.
• Artist Bio/Statement describing the work submitted and a paragraph about the artist.

Important Dates:

• Application Deadline: Sunday, August 21st, 11:59 PM
• Notice of Acceptance: To be sent out Friday, August 26th.
• Delivery Dates: September 9-11 at Mt. Airy Art Garage, 7054 Germantown Avenue
• Opening Reception: Sunday, September 18, 3-5 p.m.
• Artist Pick-Up: October 15-16 at Mt. Airy Art Garage, 7054 Germantown Avenue (see gallery hours)

MAAG assumes no liability for any damage that may occur during the exhibit and is not responsible for any artwork left past the pickup date.
