Black Art / Philly Soul

2023 Black Art Matters Exhibition

June 18 – July 21

The Mt. Airy Art Garage (MAAG) invites all artists to submit their art for the 2023 Black Art Matters exhibition, “Black Art / Philly Soul,” happening June 18 – July 21, 2023, in the Solomon Levy Gallery at MAAG, 7054 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19119.

MAAG hosts this annual exhibition to showcase Philadelphia’s cultural and aesthetic soul as it has been shaped by the Black experience – the struggles and triumphs, the strengths and celebrations. It is an expression of MAAG’s support of the Black Lives Matter movement and the significance Juneteenth plays in our collective histories.

Artists may submit up to two (2) pieces of artwork to be on display and for sale. All mediums are welcome for consideration. All 2-D work must be framed with wire hangers. Artists submitting sculpture or other 3-D work may need to provide their own pedestals.
