CALL FOR ARTISTS

Drawing from Live Models 2026

Held in partnership with the Mt. Airy Art Garage Figure Drawing Group, this exhibition features work of artists inspired by the human form when drawn from a live model.

The Mt. Airy Art Garage (MAAG) is holding an open call for artists to submit artwork for the exhibition, “Drawing from Live Models 2026.” This is a juried exhibition and we invite member artists and artists associated with other art centers in the Philadelphia region. Whether you’re a member of MAAG, the Figure Drawing Group at MAAG, or just enjoy drawing the human figure, MAAG invites you to submit artwork that conveys your unique vision.

Artwork in a variety of mediums, styles, and execution will be accepted. Artists may submit up to three (3) pieces of art to be on display and for sale in this upcoming exhibition. All work must be framed and ready to hang.

non-members: $10 for 1st, $20 each additional (up to 2)

Submission Guidelines

MAAG welcomes all artists, from emerging to professional. We also strive for excellence and professionalism in presenting artwork; therefore, all work must be professionally presented and properly finished.

  • All works of art must reflect the theme of the show and be the work that was submitted to the jury.
  • All works of art must be original, done by the artist, and ready to properly present — framed with wire hangers.
  • Artists wishing to submit art that exceeds 4 ft. wide or 4 ft. high will need to contact MAAG at info@mtairyartgarage.org.
  • All work must be for sale. All sales are processed by the MAAG Gift Shop, and the commission on work sold during the show is 35%. Sold artwork must remain in the gallery till closing date.
  • It is recommended that artists be present at the art reception.
  • MAAG does have insurance on exhibited works, which covers the costs of the materials only. All work is insured only for the duration of the show. Any pieces not picked up after the due dates are not insured.

  • MAAG’s Submission Form (download here)
  • Up to 2 JPG images (300 dpi) of your work. Be advised that submitted images may be used by MAAG for advertising and marketing if the work is accepted.
  • Entry Fees: MAAG members: $5 for 1st, $10 each additional (up to 2); non-members: $10 for 1st, $20 each additional (up to 2), which can be sent via PayPal, snail mail or hand delivered.
  • Artist Statement/Bio describing the work submitted and a paragraph about the artist.

Important Dates

  • Application Deadline: Tuesday, April 21, 11:59 PM
  • Notice of Acceptance sent on or near Friday, April 24
  • Artwork Delivery Dates: April 25-26 (Fri-Sat: noon-6 PM, Sun: noon-5 PM)
  • Opening Reception: TBA
  • Artist Pick-Up: May 30-31 (Sat: noon-6 PM, Sun: noon-5 PM)

MAAG assumes no liability for any damage that may occur during the exhibit and is not responsible for any artwork left past the pickup date.
