Contemplation by Arleen Olshan

“Contemplation,” charcoal drawing

The current work that I submitted to this years’ Silent Auction at the Mt. Airy Art Garage is a figure drawing entitled “Contemplation.” It is an older piece that was drawn on brown butcher paper. I am showing both newer and older works in the Solomon Levy Gallery this year, as I want to divest of past work and continue to draw from live models to build a new portfolio.

Getting back to drawing and painting from the figure is truly my goal. As many of our friends know, I am also a custom leather worker, hand crafting wearable accessories. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had in my craft, but the dream is always to draw and paint.

I am particularly appreciative of our Mt. Airy community that supports the arts and creativity.

Contemplation is a framed charcoal drawing on paper.
