“Freedom II,” pen & ink

By using a free form process of pen and ink drawing, I allow my inner thoughts and emotions to come out in an abstract format. Bold contrasting colors, details, and patterns highlight my design allowing my emotions and the image to take form on paper.

Born and raised in the Mt Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia, art has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I feel that art is an extension of oneself — do what you love and love what you do, and it will show. Being creative is something that just feels natural to me.

My schooling has included course work at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and at the New York Institute of Technology, where my collage and photographic art pieces were honored in the NYIT 50th Anniversary Art Celebration. I am pleased to be a member of the Mt Airy Art Garage community. While I often create with sharpie marker/ pen and ink, I enjoy exploring with a range of materials, from acrylic paint, watercolor, mosaics and multimedia.

Freedom II is a framed pen & ink drawing by this young up-and-coming artist.
