Elephant, a drawing by Charles Johnson

“Elephant,” charcoal drawing

I work mostly with charcoal and watercolor. My work has been awarded third place in a local art competition. Most recently, the Philadelphia Zoo has sold prints of an early pencil drawing of one of their elephants as a fundraiser; and I have developed publicity material for the League of Women Voters.

I have a BA in Illustration from the Philadelphia Museum School of Art (now the University of the Arts). I have worked as an illustrator for the U.S. Air Force and for Glaxo SmithKline as art production manager in the Advertising Department and, after retirement, as their consultant.

Elephant is a framed charcoal drawing.
